Captain Lowel - Lowel was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Living 5 minutes from the ocean, he became scuba certified and fell in love with the underwater realm. With a thirst for adventure, he has travelled to Malaysia, Socorro Island, Galapagos and through out the Caribbean to scuba dive. While in Palau, Lowel had such a wonderful experience on the Palau Aggressor II that he decided to become a crewmember in the fleet. With the goal of becoming a Captain on an Aggressor yacht, Lowell joined the crew of the Cayman Aggressor IV. He quickly became First Mate then Second Captain. When the chance to move to PNG as Captain became available, he jumped at the opportunity. He has dedicated his life to the ocean and enjoys working for Aggressor & Dancer Fleets.

Melissa – Melissa was born and raised in a small town in Northern Illinois, USA. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in biology and international studies from Northern Michigan University, she traded in her snow boots for fins and headed to the warm water of Southern Mexico where she earned her Divemaster certification. After completing her instructor certification in Honduras, she landed a job on the Turks and Caicos Aggressor. Melissa has worked on several Aggressor boats and now calls the Star Dancer in Papua New Guinea home. Having been scuba diving since 2003, Melissa really enjoys the photography aspect of liveaboard diving but also the opportunity to teach visitors about the underwater environment. Melissa is the Purser on board and is a vital part of the daily operations on the vessel.

Junior – Junior was born in Kimbe, PNG. He has worked through out PNG at local dive resorts and has been on Star Dancer for 8 years. He is a certified Divemaster and is a great critter finder. Junior has over 6,000 dives in the PNG area. He has a wonderful knowledge of the sea and with that knowledge he is working to obtain his captain’s license. He is an avid soccer player and when he is not working on Star you can find him on the soccer field as a midfielder. If there is any creature that is on the dive then Junior is the person to find it. |

Jerry –Hailing from Sailsbury, North Carolina (USA), Jerry comes to the Star Dancer after having spent the first part of his career exploring the world and gaining the experience necessary to take on the ships engineeringrole. Jerry spent 20 years with the US Navy, retiring as Senior Chief Petty Officer. He then joined US Airways as a licensed airline mechanic, before returning home to North Carolina where he embraced his love of diving and became an instructor and started teaching diving. While on board Star Dancer, Jerry is one of our hard working crew members that you may not always see as he splits his time overseeing the engineering on board the yacht (which is typically below decks) while also serving as a member of the dive deck team.

Frances – Frances is from the Rabaraba district in Milne Bay. She has worked on Star Dancer for 6 years and is one of the Galley Assistants on the yacht. Frances likes to fish, listen to music and play volleyball in her time off. |

Daisy – Daisy is from Central Suau Island in PNG. She is the chef onboard and has been with the boat for a year. Before working on Star Dancer, Daisy was an elementary school teacher. On her time off she enjoys shopping and researching for World War II relics. She has actually found a B -29 bomber in the Amazon bay in Milne Bay. She has worked on 5 different liveaboard dive boats in the Solomon Islands, Australia, Indonesia and PNG.

Sine – Sine is the deckhand/galley assistant and has been with Star Dancer for a year. She is constantly moving and lends a helpful hand taking fins from the returning divers as well as preparing meals in the galley. One of the things that Sine really enjoys about working on Star Dancer is that she gets to meet different people from around the world each charter. When she is back home in her village, Sine loves to tend to her garden where she grows tapioca, kau kau, taro root and yams. She is continuing her dive training and working on her Rescue Diver certification and hopefully soon she will get her Divemaster certification.

Ben – Ben is from Pupulai Island in PNG. He is the second engineer/ divemaster on Star and has worked on the boat for a year. Ben has worked on fishing boats and local dive boats in the Port Morseby/ Milne Bay area as well as Austrailia. Through the years of working on many boats, Ben has gained a world of knowledge in the engineering department and is a huge help in keeping the boat running smoothly.

Bale – Bale is from the Kimbe area of PNG and has gained vast experience in critter finding as well as being an accomplished seaman. He has worked on Star for one year. Bale was a rugby star in PNG and now is a star on Star Dancer. Future plans for Bale are to go back to Kimbe to maintain his palm oil plantation.

Joe – Joe ensures that Star is safe at night as our night watchman. He is from Rabaul, PNG and has been working on the boat for 5 years. He is a renaissance man and enjoys movies, listening to music like Bob Marley and Lucky Dube and plays guitar. In the future, Joe is looking to own a plantation to grow cocoa and coconuts. |

Rachel –Rachel has worked on the boat for a year. She is one of the galley assistants and helps keep the boat looking neat and clean while serving you the best gourmet meals that PNG has to offer. On her time off, Rachel likes to spend time in the garden growing kau kau and taro root as well as getting in her canoe to go fishing. She has 3 children that she loves to spend time with.
